As a member of our corporate Logistics team, ensure legal compliance and provide import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Primary Responsibilities: Analyze and interpret export and import regulations and maintain current knowledge of changes. Responsible for setting policy and coordinating all activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, Automated Export System reporting, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening. Interfaces with internal / external customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import / export regulations. Responsible for maintaining internal controls program to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products. Reviews and clears/escalates denied party screen hits. Determines product eligibility for multiple trade agreements. Participates in continual improvement process related to Compliance Program and manages document revisions of internal controls and procedures. Conducts periodic export and import self assessments (compliance audits) and implements any necessary corrective actions. Interacts with US Customs, Trade Authorities and present to Brooks Automation Senior Management on trade compliance matters. Collaborates with procurement, financial, tax, product marketing, logistics, order entry, and engineering functions is required. Develops and conducts trade compliance training; administers training records. Maintains and ensures the highest level of ethical standards. Some travel required Technical Qualifications: Bachelors in Business, Logistics, or related field, and a minimum of 5 to 10 years in Import/Export experience required. Practical experience applying US Customs regulations, US Export Administration Regulations and license requirements, to include SNAP-R submissions, required. Strong working knowledge of international business practices, transportation laws, and customs requirements. Understanding of Customs Regulations in the EU and Asia. Thoroughly familiar with international shipping documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and export license; including consignee information, INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff code and nomenclature, country of origin, customs value, export classification, and license data. Requires advanced Excel skills and ability to interpret data Must have familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Customs Broker’s License preferred Experience with internal and external audit processes preferred Leadership Qualifications This is an opportunity to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
