Department VICE PRES INFORMATION TECHNLGY (UA-VPIT-IUKOA) Job Summary With limited supervision, the Endpoint Administrator provides leadership in endpoint deployment and device management including the configuration, placement, and updating of endpoint systems including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. This position is expected to effectively participate in cross-group collaborations and develop the strategy that unifies and standardizes UITS - Kokomo and regional campuses with Indiana University's endpoint deployment and device management solution utilizing tools and/or resources like Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Casper (Jamf Pro) for Apple client management. Participates in the research and system design, and is responsible for implementation and troubleshooting of complex issues within the campus endpoint deployment and device management environment. Establishes metrics and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity and system performance metrics are obtained. Participates in enterprise service upgrades, modifications, and reinstallations related to the enterprise service components. Analyzes and evaluates new capabilities and emerging technologies related to the enterprise-wide Workplace Deployment and Device Management Solution. Provides leadership and technical expertise related to all supported UITS endpoint technology including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, 3D printing, OS deployment, and patch deployment. Ensures device compliancy with IT12, 12.1 and IT28 standards. Provides Tier II support for all campus technology infrastructure. Supports the University and the IT department by solving problems relating to computer and electronics technology. Provides user training and support. Assists with department initiatives as part of a project team. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology-related field and some experience in management, installation, and operation of computer hardware, software, and audio / visual technology systems. Combinations of education and related experience may be considered. Advanced computer and audio / visual / media system skills. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of digital and analog applied electronics. Knowledge of networking principles. Knowledge of DOS, MAC OS, Windows OS, Windows Server, and Linux in a networked environment. Ability to read, write, and understand complex schematic diagrams. Knowledge of classroom technologies and equipment. Organizational skills. Ability to accurately estimate time and materials needed to perform assignments. Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Communication skills, including ability to work with a wide range of people. Problem solving skills. Proven orientation toward quality service, including strong orientation to assist users who are uncomfortable with technology. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience as an endpoint administrator. Ability to create programs for Extron control systems. Working Conditions / Demands Utilization of: classroom technology including projectors, projection screens, Extron control systems; electronic monitoring systems; desktop and mobile PCs, operating systems, and software; computer security equipment; printers and copiers; video playback equipment and standards; digital and analog transmission technologies; structured cabling procedures; electronics testing and repair equipment and tools.
