The Shipboard Information Fleet Support (SFS) unit is seeking a motivated individual to directly supervise the Shipboard Information Technology (SBIT) laboratory. The SBIT lab is used to develop, test, and troubleshoot applications and hardware that are used on submarines and aircraft carriers in the Fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a vision for SBIT lab operation, upkeep, and integration with the user community. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure the installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and provisioning of system hardware, software, licensing, and related infrastructure within the laboratory. Specific areas of responsibility include: Establish and maintain a vision for the SBIT lab. Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures. Deliver creative solutions to maintain or improve reliability and security postures of the SBIT lab. Be responsible for SBIT lab resources including utilization infrastructure, network topology, storage architecture, system hardware/software, and portable electronic devices. Job Requirements Senior Systems Analyst: Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or Master?s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years relevant experience; or Master?s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years relevant experience Job Preferred Skills Prior experience with VMWare and/or VSphere, NetApp storage devices, and Cisco LANs. Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Linux environments. Information Technology troubleshooting experience.
