The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) works to ensure every New Yorker has access to affordable, high-quality care. We advance the health of individuals and communities by providing leadership, representation, and service to not-for-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare organizations throughout New York.
Medicaid funding. Opioid abuse reduction. Cybersecurity. Emergency preparedness. Healthcare payment reform.
These are just some of the critical healthcare priorities HANYS addresses.
HANYS advocates in Albany and Washington, D.C., on behalf of our members and the healthcare needs of New Yorkers. We engage with policymakers, agencies, community partners, the media, and more, while collaborating frequently with regional, state, and national associations. We also provide education, data analysis, quality improvement initiatives, and operational assistance to our members and partners.
Together, HANYS’ advocacy and analysis, our business services, and our educational events help healthcare leaders and other professionals navigate healthcare reform and achieve the Triple Aim of better care, better health, and lower costs.
HANYS’ members are New York’s largest providers of inpatient and outpatient care, as well as essential providers of primary care. They are often the largest employers in their regions. HANYS promotes our members’ innovations and community contributions through a variety of programs, including those highlighted below.
