The United Nations is currently seeking talented IT professional for the positions in its ‘Enterprise Resource Planning Solution Division [ERPSD] at its headquarters in New York. The ERPSD Office is responsible for deployment and improvement of all SAP-based enterprise system solutions for the United Nations called ‘Umoja’.
As an internationally recruited position, the post of Information Systems Officer will be responsible for the following duties.
Plans and directs SAP systems projects of significant importance to the institution, or major components of these complex systems which typically impact critical operations and large or multiple user groups in one or more of the following SAP systems' areas: Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance or Analytics workstreams. Provides expert advice on functional and technical design and architecture FOR the various aspects of SAP systems; identifies the need for new systems (or modifications to existing systems) or respond to requests from users; develops plans for feasibility assessment, requirements specification, design, development, and implementation, including project plans, schedules, time and cost estimates, metrics and performance measures. Supports management team in the identification of all issues and risks and provides input on resolution and / or mitigation plans to address the identified items. Manages the coordination with SAP on matters related to one or more of the following areas: HCM, SCM, Finance or Analytics in particular, related to areas of the public sector solutions, to ensure defects are reported and resolved in a timely manner. Also provides clear systems and functional requirements to SAP based on approved business process requirements.
To succeed in the role, you must have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems in a SAP environment including experience within the United Nations or other large comparable international organizations is required.
Experience with Human Capital Management [HCM] (HR, OM, Payroll, Travel, benefits), or Supply Chain Management [SCM] (Logistics, Procurement/SRM, Property and Asset Management, Demand/Supply Planning) or Finance (FI, GM, FM, BPC) or Analytics (data modelling in SAP BW, SAP HANA and Visualization in SAC) or systems engineering (development in ABAP, Fiori and SAP PO; SAP security administration, SAP Basis administration) is required.
Experience integrating SAP ERP with other enterprise systems including interfaces based on SOA principles and technology is desirable. Two years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
