The Senior Research Security Analyst & Investigator is a highly skilled compliance professional within Purdue University's Research Security and Export Controls (RSEC) team. Reporting to the Associate Director for Research Security and Export Controls, this position plays a critical role in ensuring the University’s compliance with federal mandates, including NSPM-33, the Chips and Science Act, and other evolving research security regulations. The Analyst focuses on evaluating international activities, conducting risk-based assessments, and leading sensitive investigations related to foreign influence and institutional vulnerabilities.
Success in this role requires expert-level analytical thinking, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage complex, high-stakes compliance matters with professionalism and discretion. The Senior Analyst must be adept at collecting, documenting, and evaluating information in a fast-evolving regulatory environment while maintaining institutional records and translating findings into actionable compliance strategies. The role involves frequent collaboration with university stakeholders, including faculty, administrative units, and legal counsel, to ensure consistent adherence to federal and institutional requirements.
Working independently with limited supervision, the Senior Analyst delivers results that have a significant impact on operational outcomes and institutional risk management. This individual must possess a comprehensive understanding of research security compliance and the ability to synthesize and communicate findings clearly to a range of stakeholders.
