Job Description

Global Evaluation & Applied Research Solutions (GEARS) Inc. is seeking one Statistician to support the mission and scheduling list activities of the Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).  More specifically, the Statistician will provide professional services to support development of the OFCCP’s scheduling lists. Scheduling lists are used to audit federal contractors with contracts of $10,000 or greater, to ensure that they are operating in accordance with federal hiring authorities.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to legally work in the the U.S. and pass a NACI security background investigation.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, statistics or the social sciences, with course work in database development, and statistics.

Must have four years demonstrated work experience, managing and processing large volumes of data (e.g. millions of records).

Technical Skills

  • Expertise using statistical software, Statistical Analysis Software (SAS).
  • Expertise using Sequel, SQL and related tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and Visio.

This position shall be a member of the scheduling list team, and shall work with Federal employees to develop the scheduling lists. The Statistician shall:

  • Clean, validate, manipulate, analyze and organize data using Excel or manual
  • Validate existing data or extract new relevant data from corporate and other publicly available
  • Make phone calls to corporate offices to verify contractor information, facility address, mailing address or other pertinent
  • Manage a scheduling e-mail box by processing incoming e-mails and responding to their inquiries using Microsoft WORD, Excel and
  • Create and print bulk mailing using mail merge
  • Coordinate work assignments among team
