Job Description

Process Improvement and tool development (50%)
  • Develops, builds and supports new tools and prototypes to enhance the studio’s production planning and resource forecasting capabilities.
  • Prioritizes strategic initiatives and process improvements that will strengthen the studio from a pipeline, efficiency, communication and resource utilization perspective.
  • Partners with the Director, Production & AM on the improvement of processes and tools that will help manage and guide our workforce and production planning efforts.
  • Collaborates closely with peer executives to create processes and tools that enable nimble and accurate information flows and connections between production, Finance, HR and Technology and enable information to be transmitted across the studio clearly and effectively.
  • Partners closely with the Sr. Manager of IS to help prioritize initiatives for future process improvement tools and helps guide the development of such tools.
Production Analytics (50%)
  • Helps to create consistent production milestones to improve cross-show consistency in data tracking and reporting
  • Leads the Production Analytics team in their efforts to create trend analysis, production and workforce analytics and predictive production forecast.
  • Designs and implements analytics best practices across all functional areas, including metric design and generates production planning reports and updates that includes cross-show analytics and data.
  • Helps generate studio dashboards, reports and presentations to inform decision making at an executive level
  • Specialized knowledge of the animation production process, workflows and the management of production environments.
  • 6+ years experience in strategic analytics and process engineering
  • MBA or BS/MS in Finance, Economics, Applied Math, statistics or other quantitative field
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills required; experience using Highcharts, Fusion charts and Tableau required.
  • Scripting skills (PHP, Python, Ruby, Javascript…) is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, time management skills
  • Thinks critically and analytically with a high aptitude for strategic planning. Demonstrates the ability to identify and track priorities.
  • The ability to effectively communicate, interact and partner with production leadership, creative talent and executives inside the Company is crucial.
  • The ability to drive result and to generate and promote new and innovative ideas is required, adaptable in an ever-changing environment
  • MBA or BS/MS in Finance, Economics, Applied Math, statistics or other quantitative field

The Director, Production Analytics is responsible for strengthening the capacity of predictive production analytics, cross-show production, workforce and trend analysis. He/she will lead a team of analysts that will help streamline and organize the data process, seek out actionable insights, enable scenario planning and drive critical decision making.

Part of the responsibilities will also encompass envisioning and prototyping the tools that will enable the standardization and simplification of the data gathering process and designing the processes that will enable the different support departments to connect information and create greater efficiency and transparency.

He/she will be a strong team leader and coach, with a great affinity for tools and data that support both the production process and the studio and thrives at delivering solutions to complex data problems.
