Job Description

M Powered Strategies is seeking Cloud Business Analysts to provide operational input and support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of an enterprise cloud environment, and execution support for migrating new and legacy applications and services for an exciting high profile IT initiative with the federal government. In this role, candidates will support client cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain their computing capabilities across their technical landscape. This is a remote position with the option to work from MPS Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit executive level clients input and requirements to understand current and to-be states, define strategic business IT goals, and consult in business processes reengineering to meet those goals
  • Provide operations and migration services support that enable client’s ability to tailor cloud computing services availability and delivery, based on business and technical requirements, utilizing future enterprise cloud operational tools, Cloud Service Provider (CSP) native portals and tools, and/or other client approved tools
  • Direct efforts around business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and process integration with security, architecture, budget and acquisitions
  • Execute analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed processes, applications, systems, or software, by documenting user and customer feedback
  • Provide inputs to client’s technical operating model, which includes operating processes and procedures, and continuous improvement for cloud program, technical, and operational framework and processes, in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments
  • Manage reports, cloud infrastructure assets and associated licensing for products/tools
  • Help perform project planning, scope, control, management, tracking, or review
  • Maintain project SharePoint site, update documentation, record meeting minutes, follow up on risks and action items.

  • Ability to apply sound business principles within a complex IT stakeholder environment
  • Strong communication and relationship skills with the ability to work with several different personality types, engage teams and clients, and build rapport in person and virtually 
  • Experience managing stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization, supporting effective collaboration, communicating requirements, managing logistics, and providing comprehensive documentation
  • Comfortable with complexity and critical thinking while guiding stakeholders/workgroups to achieve their objectives, using a variety of activities such as identification, categorization, prioritization and analysis  
  • Organized, process-oriented with the ability to work independently, and balance multiple priorities and roles 
  • Proactive, responsive, and easily adaptable with an ability to step in and support others’ work with little direction
  • Ability to create concise, clear, and compelling briefing materials and polished deliverables within tight timelines and for multiple audiences

Must Haves – Role Specific

  • Master’s degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required. 
  • 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • 2 years, or more, of hand-on cloud experience, business and/or technical, with AWS and/or Azure
  • Significant demonstrated experience:
    • Analyzing business, functional, technical, activities, and events related to cloud operations
    • Writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture
    • Supporting business domain targeting process efficiency and improvement
    • Comfortable operating in a newly established office, and aiding in building team norms and processes that support the work of the team
    • Ability to support stakeholder engagement and effectively interface between multiple stakeholder groups to ensure all parties have common understanding of the requirements
  • Ability to pass a background check to obtain a Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Nice to Haves

  • Previous Federal Government experience preferably at VA
  • Experience with VA’s configuration of IBM Rational Toolset for management, configuration and reporting of work products
  • Experience working in a CMMI-DEV or CMMI-SVC environment, at Maturity Level 3 or above
  • One or more Microsoft or Amazon cloud certifications
  • ITIL certification or experience with ITIL
  • Active clearance for Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps model
