Consumer Insights, Measurement, & Analytics (CIMA), part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Global Marketing & Sales organization, informs strategy development and decision-making through holistic data integration, objective data analytics, and actionable recommendations. Within CIMA, the Consumer Insight team focuses on leveraging best practices in consumer and Guest feedback to improve experiences for all who choose Disney as a vacation destination.

The Systems Engineer must possess a passion for data, systems and innovation. He/she will play a critical role in managing systems that support internal and external partnerships to drive decision-making throughout the organization. The person must be comfortable working with partner teams, conducting both planned and ad hoc requests and lead system implementation efforts successfully through the Consumer Insight Technology Team. The candidate must also ensure focus on data quality by creating a structure and following processes and continually innovate against the process and tools used to do this work.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic thinker that is able to connect business outcomes to technology solutions, strong collaborator, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Solid management of multiple hosting environments including public and private cloud solutions (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Knowledge of ETL development and relational databases such as Teradata and/or SQL Server
  • Drive automation to reduce the need for human intervention
  • Experience managing and monitoring systems and infrastructure to ensure structural integrity
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization
  • Strong scripting skills and networking knowledge
  • Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software
  • Ensure constant availability of technical resources

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in system engineering and IT support
  • 3-5 years of hands on previous experience developing or supporting enterprise online products and services
  • 1 to 3 years of project or team lead experience
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS and/or Azure
  • Detailed knowledge of core internet protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP
  • Demonstrated understanding of object oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, Python, etc.
  • Experience with web application development platforms, tools and utilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, proven ability to develop and deliver
  • Facilitate presentations geared for Senior and Executive Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud certifications preferred
  • Experience with statistical programming languages such as SAS and R preferred
  • Project Management certifications preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software or equivalent experience

Preferred Education

  • Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
