Job Description

Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Data Analytics to work as a member of the External Work Center (EWC) team. The EWC is dedicated to risk mitigation and the continuous improvement of processes and technology related to external workforce lifecycle management. The Senior Associate will report into a Senior Manager on the EWC team and will work out of our Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, FL.

The Senior Associate, Data Analytics will provide analytical and decision support to the EWC, leveraging tools such as Excel, Tableau and Alteryx. Incumbent will develop metrics, data visualizations and insights to drive decisions related to external labor across all Amgen business functions. In addition, the Senior Associate will become the subject matter expert for external workforce-related systems (e.g. Fieldglass and integrations with Workday and SAP). The incumbent will use this knowledge to support and, in some cases, lead projects to accelerate and streamline processes, such as onboarding, to mitigate risks and improve user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidates, transforms and manipulates data from disparate sources to answer both routine and ad-hoc business questions and test hypotheses. Typical analyses would include people counts, cost, savings, onboarding cycle time, process compliance including trending by time/geography/function etc.
  • Leads small technology and change management projects
  • Supports large-scale technology enhancement and process optimization projects
  • Assists in the administration of key systems such as Fieldglass, Workday, ServiceNow etc.
  • Makes recommendations to the EWC on further automation and / or continuous improvement opportunities
  • Benchmarks key metrics with SIA, TDX, or other applicable resources to drive continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Data Analytics experience OR
  • Associate’s degree and 6 years of Data Analytics experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Data Analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in reporting processes and data analytics
  • - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Must be highly proficient creating Pivot Tables, Lookup functions and data transformation formulas. Macro/VBA experience a plus.
  • Experience with data analytics and transformation software (especially Tableau and Alteryx but experience with tools like Databricks, Spotfire or Python would be transferable)
  • Strong ability to create visually impactful displays from large, multidimensional and disparate data sets
  • Ability to effectively summarize and present insights tailored to the needs of the audience
  • Experience with Fieldglass, Workday, ServiceNow, SAP
  • Experience with Agile methodology and ability to capture and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with individuals with varying levels of technical abilities
  • Strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across various levels and functions
  • Ability to manage change and improve processes
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
