Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Program Manager who will support the Data organization at Slack. The Data organization is a highly-cross functional, matrixed team that spans Slack where you will primarily be responsible for facilitating execution and alignment across that organization, and driving large-scale initiatives that span this ecosystem.

You are able to fluidly move between business and technical contexts. You understand the business and its priorities and are able to effectively drive strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver results. You understand technical implementation at a level that enables you to ask questions that clarify priorities and dependencies.

You break through communication issues and effectively develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and all facets of the business. You are comfortable communicating in both a technical and business setting, bridging conversations between Engineering, Analytics and business functional teams.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Technical and Business owners to define strategies, policies and initiatives; then bring them to life by driving in partnership with those stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-functional data-centric programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas, bridging between Engineering, Analytics and Business functional teams.
  • Develop project plans, resource plans, with accuracy and in collaboration with technical resources
  • Provide hands-on program and project management during discovery, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks, deliver projects on time against the agreed-upon critical metrics
  • Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.


  • At least 4-6 years experience in an organization running resources, tasks, and workflows in a technical program management, systems engineering and/or project/program management role.
  • At least 2-3 years experience in a program management position partnering with business functions (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, etc.), driving key initiatives cross-functionally
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, relationship building and experience working in a collaborative environment with diverse cross-functional teams - specifically, bridging technical and business partners.
  • Organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking capabilities to get things done in a fast-paced environment
  • BA/BS etc. are required; MBA a plus.
  • Experience in a fast-growing environment.
  • Detailed oriented, and self-motivated, with strong analytical skills
