PRIMARY PURPOSE : To research, assess and test new technology; to suggest innovative ways to optimize use of existing assets; to create and maintain system, technical, online and help systems documentation, reference and maintenance guides, web pages, articles, brochures and other information using diverse communication and publication methods. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Researches, writes, edits and maintains various forms of media regarding hardware, software, technical procedures, processes and other information; interprets highly-technical and intensive notes and transforms into user-friendly and easy-to-understand documentation. Maintains working knowledge of technology news and products by monitoring information technology space for innovative products that have potential to optimize business processes, reduce costs or improve productivity. Determines best practices for using hardware/software and articulates findings in a tips/tricks communication. Creates frequently asked questions and answers related to optimal use of existing technology or new technology. Assists other departments with technology-related projects by writing, editing and reviewing creative materials as well as providing information and direction. Keeps abreast of technology trends. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. Supports the organization's quality program(s). QUALIFICATION Education & Licensing High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, English, Communications, Journalism or related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience Three (3) years of experience in the field of information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
