About the Position

The Director, Analytics Enablement, Marketing manages the collection and activation of marketing analytics data and leverages multiple data technologies to curate data from multiple sources and formats to ensure the University is operating with a robust and connected marketing data funnel.

The individual effectively partners with various stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate these requirements into executable projects that build and continually advance the University’s data analytics capabilities in Marketing to effectively inform critical business decisions on marketing investments, pipeline impact and goal setting.

The Director, Analytics Enablement, Marketing uses expert knowledge of Adobe product solutions (including but not limited to Analytics, Target, AAM), PowerBI, AWS and the Google and Bing Ads platforms, to execute large and complex marketing analytics projects and authors SQL to query, load, transform and retrieve data.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the collection and activation of marketing analytics data across various marketing projects; recommend enhancements for future execution to drive informed decision-making. 

  2. Architect, document, implement and maintain tracking architecture, tagging conventions/taxonomies, data source details, platform extractions, and business logic details.

  3. Provide technical solutions to fulfil measurement and reporting goals, and be the resident expert on the collection of accurate data in a variety of platforms including ESPs, digital media, web analytics, and tag management systems.

  4. Solve complex measurement and business challenges through creativity and distill complex technology ideas into simple and digestible concepts that help stakeholders achieve their marketing and business goals.

  5. Work closely with key business partners to build the data framework and lead high-impact data analytics projects to support key strategic initiatives and decision making.

  6. Collaborate to define metrics that matter and assist in creating insightful and automated dashboards to measure performance and track key business metrics. 

  7. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Minimum Education and Related Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, analytics, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in an operational, business intelligence, data engineering and/or analytics role in an advertising agency or a consumer marketing oriented company with an in-house marketing team

Additional Qualifications

  • A relentless executor, his or her reputation should be as a persistent, but diplomatic, ambassador for the marketing organization at large
  • Able to wrangle, cleanse, sanitize and prepare data from disparate data sources. Experience with ETL and monitoring connections to ensure accurate multi-channel marketing campaigns can be tracked and reported on
  • Deep familiarity with data analysis, list procurement, list management, and list cleansing
  • Custom report development experience, such as dashboards, campaign reporting and lead reporting with the ability to communicate persuasively at the executive level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills
  • Creative problem solving ability
  • Ability to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience and comfort working in a large, matrixed organization
  • Comfortable with changing business priorities
