Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst helps produce and deliver data products and solutions to meet the demands of clients, partner vendors, and internal stakeholders. The role includes working directly with the Manager – Data Operations to develop efficient processes to maintain, query, analyze, fulfill, and report on diverse datasets.

The Senior Data Analyst will also seek to improve efficiency, identify opportunities for innovation, and implement strategy for database management. Additional requirements include adherence to standard processes and procedures, maintain best practices for data hygiene and processing, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet the strategic goals and needs of clients.

Data at REAL Strategies is intertwined in all our project work. The Senior Data Analyst helps each of our teams leverage data for client projects and plays a key role in developing solutions to key challenges we face every day. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain data management best practices and ensure data quality.
  • Build, implement, and maintain well-documented, scalable, and repeatable workflows.
  • Consult with clients and team members to ideate and deliver custom data solutions for institutional needs and regularly meet project deadlines.
  • Audit and proactively identify problems in data products being generated and come up with systemic solutions to address them.
  • Communicate and document complex, technical information in understandable language to a non-technical audience to provide a link between technical staff and key stakeholders. 
  • Train/mentor Data & Technology team members as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of data processing, programming, administration, or other data-related experience.
  • Proven professional experience with data processing techniques using software such as Alteryx, R, Python or SQL-based database tools.
  • Experience with building and maintaining interactive data visualization tools such as Tableau, R Shiny, etc.
  • Experience using voter data, census data, commercial data, or other publicly available data.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in a fast-paced, project focused environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive and consistently demonstrate eagerness to solve problems.
  • Must be a United States citizen to apply.

“Nice to have” Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with building, connecting, and/or maintaining complex databases.
  • Knowledge and experience with Alteryx software and associated tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and associated tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with creating maps using technologies such as Maptitude, Arc-GIS, or equivalent spatial manipulation tools.
  • Experience in a campaign environment.
  • Familiarity with project tracking and collaboration with Airtable.
